...

Yay us!
We gave a pretty good show yesternight; far from me the idea that our performance was perfect, but still, it was definately no where near the disaster I anticipated.

I received some good comments concerning each and everyone of us. A friend of my brother though Chris-on-the-Keyboard was quite spontaneous and energetic. My brother thought we should bring down reverb a little (a lot, actually) so people can tell what Jonah and I are singing. He also mentionned that we should attempt to vary repertoire a little; this is bound to happen anyways considering the constantly changing character of my compositions, which should become increasingly manifest in the coming few weeks.

I think we ought to work on presentation a little more, perhaps... get some interesting concepts going. I have ideas for a performance at the Java. The Gnomish Requiem was a great opening piece: everyone was wondering what the heck was going on, and even though that wasn't necessarily a comfortable impression, that's exactly what we were going for. I think, in a sense, that we should have more of that kind of "variety," more of that "staged act" element integrated in our performances. After all, Jonah's version of "Happy Birthday Mr. President" was especially well received.

That's why I'm tranlating "I will Survive" into Gnomish. I think we should do the same with many "pop" hits, because, as you all know, "everything sung in Gnomish sounds profund."

I think we have a good thing going. I'm really grateful I've met all of you wonderful people and am looking forward to working on some radically strange (and hopefully a tad less pessimistic) stuff in the very near future.

Long Live Doppelganger Effekt!
