Yay! Our first performance is over and done with (Cabaret never actually happened.) I got a list of suggestions and comments from Sam (that other people told him) which we might want to keep in mind for our next performance.
1. The violin was really good, but it should be highlighted more in some parts of the songs.
2. Jonah should sing something different from Etienne, like an octave higher or harmonies.
3. Sam should try using a palm technique on the guitar and learn how to fingerpick with the pick. I guess, in general, do more interesting things with strumming, etc.
4. Chris on the piano was said not to have done anything exceptional when he was heard except for Mad World. I think someone even suggested that we get rid of him, but that seems a little extreme to me. Of course, Etienne tells me that he got some really good comments about Chris. Anyway, we'll talk about that.
5. Chris on the bass was great, perhaps a little simple, but definitely a keeper. Maybe we'll try to integrate a bass solo into a song somewhere...
6. Etienne needs to do more variation while singing.
7. For the whole band, we need to layer the songs more. (I guess Oliver was perfect too.)
Anywho, that's it. I hope we can improve and be even better for next time! The general reaction was that we were pretty good.
